We will be offering a special afternoon of classes and social dancing on Sunday, November 23rd at the new Cuban Bar in North Beach, The Long Weekend Havana. There will be two separate classes simultaneously, one for beginners and one for intermediate/advanced dancers ($15 at the door). Here’s the schedule:

We will still be offering our regular Sunday classes classes at MNC on 11/23 at their usual times earlier in the afternoon.

RCR hosts a Cuban Dance Party every 1st Saturday of the month at Lake Merritt Dance in Oakland. December is our annual Holiday Party, this year featuring live music by Salsabrosos!

We are offering three workshops this month. At 5:00pm Ryan will offer a Rhythm & Listening class about the four kinds of clave found in Cuban popular music (3:2 and 2:3, son and rumba). Then at 6:15pm Or will be offering a Rueda Dinámica class, a fun active style of rueda with lots of fast calls— dancers must be currently attending Level 3 or 4 to participate. Then at 7:30pm we offer a 1-on-1 social dancing Salsa-Casino class (two separate levels taught in different rooms simultaneously).

At all of our monthly parties we celebrate the birthdays of everyone born in that month. Contact us in advance if your birthday is in December and we’ll put you on the guest list for the party (workshops not included, see below).

We offer all of our classes and events on a sliding scale to make them accessible to as many people as possible (we are professional artists so if you are able to pay the regular price it is much appreciated). There is absolutely no food or drink in the ballroom, including water — be sure to keep all food and drink (including water) in Hall 3, the Lounge, or the lobby.

Guajirón is an SF-based group that plays Cuban dance music, directed by longtime Bay Area dancer and RCR student Michael Terkowski. They play once per month at MNC every 2nd Friday after our weekly classes.

Before the live music we will offer our regular Friday night classes. Here's the complete schedule:

Rueda con Ritmo just came back from teaching and performing at the CubaSon festival in Mallorca. We're excited to share with you some of what we learned!

On Sunday, 12/14 Or will be hosting a workshop demonstrating what he learned in Mallorca on **Rueda Switch**, where leaders and followers exchange role mid song. To attend this workshop, you must have completed all of RCR L2 or equivalent as both a leader AND a follower.
