Live salsa is back at Brooklyn Basin! Alex and the Lumpia Company are hosting Son Chévere on Sunday afternoon, February 4th.

Before the concert, Ryan and Sidney will be offering two hours of dance workshops (the second hour will be split into two groups by level):

12:30pm Dance Class: Son & Cha-cha-chá (Int/Adv with Sidney and Ryan)
1:30pm Beginning Cuban Salsa Class (with Sidney)
1:30pm 1-on-1 Cuban Salsa (Casino) Dance Class (Int/Adv with Ryan)
2:30 - 4:30pm Live Son con Timba with Son Chévere

Son Chévere is a quartet that plays Cuban Dance Music — Son Cubano con Salsa y Timba. They opened for Havana D Primera during their San Francisco show in 2019. The members of Son Chévere are Jordan Wilson (Tres & Vocals), Ryan Mead (Percussion & Vocals), Junior Valencia (Bass), and Mara Fox (Trombone).

We offer all of our classes and events on a sliding scale to make them accessible to as many people as possible (we are professional artists so if you are able to pay the regular price it is much appreciated). When you check out, you can enter either 25OFF or 50OFF as codes to receive 25% or 50% discounts.

Music and dancing will be outdoors, but under the roof so this event will be happening regardless of weather.
