Gladys “Bobi” Céspedes has shaped the rich and lively Afro-Cuban cultural scene in the San Francisco Bay Area for close to 50 years, as a leader, singer, musician, and composer. Her music combines Cuban folkloric and modern elements in an authentic and distinctive sound guiding audiences through a journey from Yoruba incantations to the Cuban son. Along the way she shares stories of family life and love, and the teachings found in Afro Cuban folklore and fables.
